This is my first post and I'm very excited because I have a small closet organization tip to share with everyone.
Does any one live in a tiny, old house like me? Yep, their cute and full of "charm" but the biggest unforeseen issue was the lack of storage and closet space! You've seen most people's linen closets, hallway closets or entrance way closets (for coats), right? Well, I have the same one in my bedroom, guest bedroom and hallway. Just three – and man they are small.
After years of getting by with just one clothing rod in my bedroom closet, I decided to take action. I couldn't find anything I wanted to wear because everything was jammed inside, wrinkled and a complete eye sore. And, of course I was a prisoner to my school of thought that those closet kits they sell at the local home improvement store wouldn't fit in my tiny little space.
Rubbermaid actually makes a kit that will fit 3 ft wide closets! It's the Configurations Classic Closet Kit in 3-6 ft. I was able to use the double hang feature (giving me double the hanging capacity) and utilize the space above the rod for extra shelving. I even picked up 3 under bed storage containers to store extra clothes under my bed.
Do you have a small bedroom/closet? How are you making your small space work for you?
