This is usually one of the first questions my clients ask! The organizing process looks different for everyone and how long it’s going to take depends on a couple of factors.
Clients will often dictate how fast we work so it’s important to be prepped (eating a hearty breakfast and getting a good nights sleep) so you’re ready to make a lot of tough decisions. The amount of time it takes to organize an entire room, closet or kitchen also depends on how often you have time to work on it. The one thing you want to prevent when starting any project is burnout. I would suggest creating a calendar and work in the area of focus for a manageable chunk of time 1-2 days per week until you’ve processed and organized all the contents. After that, maintenance will happen more often but in shorter bursts of time. Outside forces also play a role in how long it takes to get organized. If you have support and help from a family member, friend or a form of accountability, I find that you’re setting yourself up for success which will ensure that your project will be completed.
