I need help organizing my craft room! Where do I start?

The challenge with organizing a craft room is usually all the small odds and ends that need to have a home so that you can find them when you need them. I also find that one has to come up with solutions for housing odd-sized items like poster-board paper and tools. Using the organizing principle, like with like, I would start in any spot that will give you the most relief (or space to work) and go from there. You’ll want to set yourself up for success by having quite a bit of baggies and small sorting boxes to get the organizing project started. Once you get to a category that seems impossible to store, utilize sites like Pinterest for inspiration and ideas. And lastly, here’s something to think about for future crafting projects.  If there aren’t enough pieces of the project to warrant saving–don’t. That’s where most run into trouble in a crafting room. Keeping more categories of items you can store, only to never use them again.

Beth Zeigler knew she was on an organizing path when at the age of 5 she was maximizing her closet space to function as a second bedroom for her dolls. Throw in her background of delegating tasks to her younger brother throughout childhood–and her transition to organizing developed quite organically. Check out her web site at Bneato!
