Small bedrooms can be a challenge, but there is one thing – or maybe four – that you have on your side – walls. If you’re tight on space, use your walls to strategically mount shelving and hooks. You’ll keep the floor clear and be able to find what you’re looking for.
Your daughter may need to keep some things under her bed in storage containers (don’t forget to label!) or choose furniture that has drawers built in at the bottom. Some beds also come with functional headboards. The storage areas in the headboard could take the place of a nightstand and be used for keeping books, an alarm clock, or mobile phone.
Remember to limit the number of pieces of furniture so that the room feels bigger and is easier to move around in.
