If I were sharing my office with a laundry room, I’d want to minimize the footprint of the laundry portion of the room. To do that, think about your vertical space. Can you mount shelves or cupboards on the wall above the washer and dryer to store detergent and other supplies? Perhaps you can get a wall-mounted table that folds flat against the wall to use for folding. (IKEA sells one, called Norberg.) If you iron in the laundry room, Rubbermaid’s Ironing Organizer can allow you to mount your iron and ironing board to the wall.
If feasible, you might consider masking the laundry portion of your home office by using an attractive screen. This would allow you to visually separate your office from the laundry room.
