Do you have visions of being healthy and drinking the recommended amount of water per day, but always seem to be chugging water at bed time (and getting up in the middle of the night to use the restroom)?
Good news! My co-worker Gretchen found a great way to motivate yourself to drink more water throughout the day. The solution: know how much water you have to drink per hour.
How do you do this?
- Grab a Rubbermaid 30 oz Hydration bottle (Gretchen is sporting the classy purple below)
- Get a Sharpie paint pen
- Split the bottle into four even sections (using the markings already on the bottle to help)
- Mark the sections counting down the hours starting with 9 am (and 2 pm) and ending with noon (and 5 pm). NOTE: Gretchen’s thought process is that she’ll drink another glass of water at lunch, so she skipped noon to 1pm and started again with 2pm.
- Drink two of the bottles a day, drinking one section each hour.
